wow.  i cannot believe it, but this is going to be my last post on this blog!  i will make an entry with the link to my new site when it goes live & cannot wait to share the new look of smitten photography with you!  this blog has been a place for me to share not only my work... but my heart, my passion, my joy & some of the great life surprises that have come my way.

thank you for being a part of this creative journey with smitten photography!  it brings me so much joy to share life with my clients - to see the greatest moments, the biggest kisses, the sweetest hugs, the melt-to-the-ground laughter, and the joyful tears - all the emotions that i love to watch through the lens of my camera.  

i'm excited for the new year & the clients who i will have the joy of capturing life for!  until we meet again, here is the longest post ever of an unbelievably yummy engagement session {the first of two!} with the most adorable couple who's wedding i'll be shooting in tennessee, next year!  hope you enjoy these favorites of amber & taylor and check back like crazy until the new link is posted :)

merry christmas...

i am so grateful to be celebrating christmas with my family today!  elle is playing with her cousins, bosten is sleeping & ryan is out shooting guns & running around with my brother.  i thought i'd take a minute to post a few pictures from this christmas week of my little munchkins...

i have been reminded this year, like never before, about the sweet gift of jesus that i have been given.  i think that having a son has given me a new perspective on what mary must have felt as she held her baby boy in her arms.  i have an understanding about the bond between a mommy and son & knowing this kind of love makes the thought unfathomable to me of what mary went through knowing her son would be taken with the ultimate sacrifice.  

i am thankful for my savior, for his love for me & the chance to know and live my life to the fullest.  

merry christmas and i hope your day is filled with lots of love and laughter!

what a year...

amazing.

the one word that describes 2008 for smitten photography.  i have talked so much about whats coming in the next couple weeks, but i wanted to wrap up this year in style...so i put together a slideshow of my favorite little munchkin photographs & hope you enjoy them!

while catherine & bill were in town from alabama we met up at the lake to shoot their engagement photos!  it was cold & raining but it sure didn't stop the love from flowing :)  

i think this photo session epitomizes the natural and beautiful love that these two share.   hope you enjoy some of my favorites...

monkey-do.

happy 1st birthday to charlie...this little monkey had an amazing party with his family who celebrated his first year of life in a BIG way!  it was a monkey themed bash and trust me, it was barrels of fun :)

winter bride.

you'd never know by the looks of this amazingly-out-of-control bridal session that it was 39 degrees during our shoot!  i have dearly missed having beautiful smitten brides in front of my camera for the past couple months & catherine was so drop dead gorgeous and natural that it made for a fun return to wedding shooting!  also, in the last photo of this post you can see a hint of something fun that i'm working on with my favorite production company to add some flavor to my new blog!   its just a matter of days before the images you see from me are BIGGER and BETTER than ever :)

i'm off to shoot catherine and bill's engagement shoot right now since their january wedding is right around the corner - so enjoy lots of my favorites...

this was the third shot of the day - way to start of with a bang :)  i knew things were gonna be good, but i had no idea just how good they'd be...

i really have so many favorites that i cannot narrow down just one.  basically all of the photos you see below are off the charts of catherine and show not only her beauty, but her fun-loving spirit, as well.  i simply cannot wait to be part of her wedding in a month!!

and finally, look behind catherine's shoulder and see my friend kevin of techinc productions {whose wedding i'm shooting next year!} and drool a little about what he's in the process of creating for me :)

texas cutie.

this little 1 yr. old munchkin + mom & dad moved to town a few months ago from texas!  we had some fun last night playing around his neighborhood and i had even more fun getting him to show some adorable expressions.  take a look at what i mean :)

bride to belly.

i was thrilled to photograph my first smitten bride who is expecting a baby in january!  sara & travis had a heavenly wedding day in the mountains of north carolina earlier this year & two months after tying the knot, sara found out she was expecting a baby!  they are having a little girl, who has been affectionately named "baby j" and she will be making her debut sometime in the next four weeks.  

we had another gorgeous evening for our photo shoot & i couldn't help but get carried away with the vintage feel of these photos with the perfect setting around us.  hope you enjoy my favorites...
